Tests and Projects

TESTS:
Reading comprehension and spelling tests are every Friday.  Social Studies, Science and Math tests are usually on Fridays as well.  However, please refer to your students planner or my blog in the homework section to get exact dates on these subjects and their testing dates.  Thank you.

Week 37:  May 9th-13th:  Reading and spelling tests will be on Friday of this week.  Please work on your scrapbook project.  This is due Monday, May16th.

Week 36: May 2nd - 6th:  Math test Unit 11 on Thursday, May 5th.  Spelling and Reading Comprehension test on Friday, May 6th.

Week 35: April 25th:  Spelling and Reading comprehension test on Thursday, April 28th.

Week 34:  April 18th:  Test on Immigration this Friday, April 22nd along with the spelling and reading comprehension test.

Week 33: April 11th:  Math test on unit 10 on Friday.  In this unit we studied capacity in measureable units; cups, pints, quarts, gallons.  We also studied counting money, purchasing an item, paying for said item...counting back change.  We learned adding dollar amounts using the ballpark estimate strategy and place value up to the thousands. 

Week 32: April 8th: Test on the Civil War.  Please review the study guide sent home a couple weeks ago.

Week 29: March 10th: Test on unit of Tall Tales.  Our next unit will be on the Civil War.  This unit begins on March 14th and a study guide will  come home. 

Week 26:  February 14th- 17th: Our test on Simple Machines is this Thursday.  The next unit will be on Tall Tales.  We will begin this on Tuesday, February 22nd. 

Week 25:  February 7th- 11th:  Our test on simple machines has been postponed by one week.  We will have the test on February 17th now, (due to our two snow days off.)


PROJECTS:

Week 36: May 2nd:  Scrapbook project on student's life is due next week, Monday 16th.  It requires a lot of time and effort.  Please assist your child in finishing this project on time.  Thanks.

Week 35: April 25th:  New Unit in Core is on life cycles and students will be working on their last project for the year. 
This project is on their Life Cycle up to date.  This is a lengthy project and will require time, effort and creativity.  This project is due Monday, May 16th. 

Week 32: April 4th: Information on our next project will be coming home.  Our next unit in Core is on Immigration.  The student's project is to make a family tree and give an oral presentation on it to the class.  I will provide a few templates that you may use to keep it simple...or you may become as creative as you would like and/or have time.

I am sending this information home one week ahead of time to provide extra time.  The project is due on Wednesday, April 20th.  Thank you. 

Week 22: January 18 through January 28th:  We are beginning our unit on Moving West!  There is a toy project in this unit.  Information on this project will come home on Tuesday, January 18th.  The toy presentation will be on Thursday and Friday, January 27th and 28th.  Enjoy the simple life when your child makes their toy.  (Again, please do not go out and purchase anything for this project.  Items around your home are what is to be used.)
